Why The Interval exists
We forgot how
to be bored.
Every spare minute became another scroll, another notification, another thing asking for our attention.
So I wanted to make something you could pick up instead. Something that didn't ask you to catch up, keep up or know what happened five minutes ago.
What it is
Not just a newspaper.
Not a workbook.
Not a screen.
The Interval is a small monthly paper filled with games, puzzles, familiar things, strange things and the occasional argument waiting to happen.
It is made to be picked up on a Sunday afternoon, passed across a table, left in a café, taken on a train or found again three weeks later.
Nothing expires. Nothing needs an update. You just open it and start.
Who's behind it

I started The Interval because I wanted to cut my screen time and couldn't find anything worth putting my phone down for.
Every part of it is made at one table in Bombay — the games, the clues, the answers, the cover. If a puzzle in here annoys you, that's me. If one makes you laugh out loud on a train, also me.

Welcome to The Interval.
This started with a simple thought: somewhere along the way, we forgot how to be bored. Every spare minute became another scroll, another notification, another thing asking for our attention.
So I made the paper I wanted to find in a bookshop, on a coffee table or tucked into a café corner. One you could solve with friends, leave behind for a stranger, or pick up again months later and still smile at.
This paper won't change your life, organise your inbox or teach you how to wake up at 5 a.m. But I hope it makes your day a little more fun. Fold it, write in it, spill chai on it if you must, and don't forget to share it before hiding it on your bookshelf.

Questions
How often does a new Interval come out?
Monthly. Each issue is a new set of things to play, solve and discover.
Is there really no news?
None. The point is that nothing in it needs to be kept up with.
Do I need to be good at puzzles?
No. Some are easy, some are annoying, some are better with another person. The point is to have fun, not pass an exam.
Is it in Hindi?
Everything is in English, with references to Indian films, food, places and culture.
Can I play it alone?
Most of it, yes. Some bits are better when someone is sitting opposite you.
When does it ship?
Orders are dispatched from Mumbai within three working days. Delivery usually takes about a week, depending on the destination.
What if it arrives damaged?
Send a photograph and I'll post a replacement.
Do you ship outside India?
Not yet. If you're abroad and want one, write in and we'll work something out.
Can I get a refund?
Before it ships, yes, in full. After it ships I can't take a newspaper back, but if something's wrong with it I'll replace it.
Can I buy it as a gift, or in bulk?
Yes. For bulk orders, hampers, onboarding kits, offsites or anything over ten copies, email readinterval.in@gmail.com.
